Chanel is recruiting a Merchandising / Product Professional (Contract) in Seoul. Join Chanel's Korea team to manage assortment, forecasting and product launches.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage local assortment planning and product lifecycle for the Korea market, ensuring alignment with global product strategies and seasonal calendars.
  • Translate global briefs into market-specific ranges, coordinating assortment, SKUs, pricing, and commercial markdown strategies.
  • Collaborate with design, buying, supply chain and retail operations to ensure on-time delivery, inventory optimisation and allocation by channel.
  • Produce sales forecasts, sell-through analysis and stock reports; recommend replenishment and ageing actions to maximise margins.
  • Develop and present commercial recommendations to regional leadership, using quantitative analysis and qualitative market insight.
  • Support launch planning for new collections and product activations in-store and online, including merchandising guidelines and visual direction.
  • Liaise with global product teams and local retail teams to capture client feedback and translate demand signals into range adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate product data and documentation across internal systems, ensuring consistency of pricing, descriptions and imagery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, fashion merchandising, retail management or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 3–6 years of progressive experience in merchandising, product or buying roles—preferably within luxury fashion or premium retail.
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrable experience in forecasting, assortment planning and inventory optimisation.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with design, supply chain and retail teams in a matrixed international environment.
  • High proficiency in Excel for analysis and reporting; experience with merchandising or PLM systems advantageous.

Experience

Typically 3–6 years in merchandising, product management or buying within luxury fashion or premium retail, with experience handling assortment planning, forecasting and inventory allocation in a market-facing role.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, fashion or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
