Chanel – Material Product Manager – Ready-to-Wear in Paris. Permanent full-time role managing textile development and industrialization for haute couture collections.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage supplier portfolio in alignment with category strategy and oversee material and colorway development within collection guidelines
- Support the Creative Studio in allocating developments according to partner capabilities and production equilibrium requirements
- Advise the Creative Studio on material selection by balancing creative vision, feasibility, quality, and cost
- Identify and anticipate material requirements across different product lines and identify technical, manufacturing, and timeline risks with appropriate mitigation actions
- Lead material industrialization within established deadlines and ensure eco-responsibility compliance in transformation processes
- Maintain development milestones and coordinate production reservations with the supply team
- Prepare production documentation and transfer files to the quality department
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers, construct cost analysis files, and optimize material costs while maintaining quality and delivery standards
- Serve as interface between the Creative Studio, product departments, collection procurement, suppliers, laboratory, and engineering teams
- Ensure proper information flow throughout the development process and contribute to continuous improvement of material development methods
Qualifications
- Master's degree (Bac +5) in textile, fashion, engineering, or equivalent discipline
- 5 to 8 years of experience in material development, textiles, or product development
- Comprehensive knowledge of textile materials, manufacturing processes, and industrial constraints
- Deep product sensibility and fashion culture
- Expertise in textile material assessment, product development, and industrialization
- Strong project management and supplier management capabilities
- Proficiency in quality, cost, and timeline analysis
- Pricing and negotiation skills
- Proficiency with PLM tools and product management software
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, team collaboration, interpersonal skills, autonomy, rigor, curiosity, and proactive problem-solving

Experience
5 to 8 years in material development, textiles, or product development within a luxury or fashion environment
Education
Master's degree (Bac +5) in textile, fashion, engineering, or equivalent discipline
