Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver bespoke makeup services and consultations at the Selfridges Birmingham Chanel counter, adapting techniques to client needs and occasions.
- Drive retail sales through consultative selling, makeovers, make-up lessons and upsell of complementary products to achieve daily and monthly KPIs.
- Maintain impeccable application hygiene and counter housekeeping, ensuring compliance with Chanel’s presentation and sanitary standards.
- Manage appointments, walk-in clients and product demonstrations; support counter merchandising and stock replenishment.
- Represent the brand at product launches, promotional events and in-store activations; impart product knowledge to clients and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification in makeup artistry, cosmetology or an equivalent recognised certification.
- Right to work in the UK and availability to work retail hours, including weekends and evenings, for the duration of the fixed-term contract.
- Strong knowledge of luxury skincare and colour-correcting techniques, with demonstrable product knowledge in prestige cosmetics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused, consultative sales approach.

Experience
Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience working as a makeup artist within a prestige cosmetics counter or as a professional makeup artist with demonstrable retail or client-facing experience.
Education
Professional qualification in makeup artistry, cosmetology, or equivalent; formal academic degree not required.
