Role & Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process and final quality inspections of leather goods to ensure compliance with Chanel standards and specifications
- Identify, classify and document material and manufacturing defects (leather flaws, stitching, hardware, edges, finishes) and drive root-cause analysis
- Develop and maintain inspection criteria, sampling plans (AQL) and acceptance reports for production lines and suppliers
- Coordinate corrective actions with production teams, suppliers and R&D to eliminate recurring defects and improve first-pass yield
- Conduct supplier quality assessments and on-site audits; monitor supplier performance metrics and approve remediation plans
- Validate colour, finish and dimensional tolerances; perform or supervise physical tests where required (abrasion, tensile, colourfastness)
- Maintain detailed quality records, non-conformance reports and trend analyses to inform continuous improvement initiatives
- Train production staff and inspectors on Chanel quality requirements, inspection techniques and defect prevention practices
Qualifications
- Technical diploma or degree in leather technology, materials science, industrial engineering or equivalent vocational qualification
- Deep knowledge of leather materials, tanning processes, finishes and common hide defects
- Experience with quality methodologies: sampling plans (AQL), root-cause analysis and corrective action processes
- Ability to read technical drawings and product specifications for accessories and small leather goods
- Strong attention to detail and manual inspection capability for fine luxury products
- Fluent Italian; working knowledge of English preferred (if explicitly required by hiring location, language skills will be confirmed during hiring)

Several years of hands-on experience in quality control or quality assurance for leather goods or footwear within a premium or luxury manufacturing environment, including supplier interactions and production-line oversight.
Education
