Chanel seeks Leather Goods Quality Expert in Paris for permanent role overseeing manufacturing quality controls, supplier partnerships, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections on leather goods products across manufacturing facilities and partner sites
- Analyze root causes of quality defects and actively develop, deploy, and monitor corrective action plans in response to production alerts
- Establish and track key performance indicators across the supplier and manufacturer portfolio, reporting findings to the Quality Manager
- Drive performance improvement initiatives by defining continuous progress plans for assigned accounts
- Support supplier development and quality system maturation through audits, quality committees, indicator management, and process mapping
- Share quality alerts, performance metrics, and progress updates with Distribution Centers and the Operations Quality Project Manager
- Handle products with exceptional care during inspections to demonstrate expected standards to manufacturing partners
- Embody Chanel's exemplary professionalism, rigor, and excellence during all on-site visits
Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of established experience in leather goods manufacturing with demonstrated understanding of artisanal processes
- Technical training and comprehensive knowledge of materials used in leather goods (leather, textiles, etc.)
- Experience or background in leather goods industrialization
- Mastery of MRP systems
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities
- Ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders toward shared objectives
- Rigorous, organized approach with clear prioritization skills
- Adaptability and negotiation aptitude
- Valid driving license (Permis B) with flexibility for frequent travel (approximately 3 days per week)

Experience
5 to 7 years of established professional experience in the leather goods and maroquinerie sector, with strong knowledge of artisanal manufacturing processes, industrialization practices, and quality control methodologies. Candidates should demonstrate a track record in implementing performance indicators, conducting supplier audits, and driving process improvements in a luxury manufacturing environment.
Education
Technical training or formal education in quality assurance, manufacturing engineering, materials science, or a related discipline specializing in leather goods production and craftsmanship.
