Role & Responsibilities

  • Define, implement and maintain quality control protocols and acceptance criteria specific to marroquinerie production.
  • Conduct incoming material inspections, in-process audits and final product inspections to ensure conformity with Chanel standards.
  • Lead supplier and factory quality audits, generate non-conformance reports and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Perform laboratory and physical tests (dimensional checks, colorfastness, tensile, seam strength) and validate test results against specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with product development, production, sourcing and R&D to translate design intent into producible, compliant components.
  • Train production and quality teams on inspection methods, AQL sampling, and defect classification tailored to luxury leatherwork.
  • Prepare and present concise quality reports, KPI dashboards and escalation summaries for senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Degree in materials science, leather technology, polymer engineering, industrial engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Proven experience in quality systems for leather goods or footwear in the luxury sector; supplier and factory audit experience is essential.
  • Familiarity with quality methodologies such as AQL sampling, FMEA, root-cause analysis and CAPA.
  • Practical knowledge of leather types, tanning processes, hardware (metal fittings), stitch and seam standards for marroquinerie.
  • Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001) and use of inspection/test equipment (e.g., micrometers, colorimeters) preferred.
