Role & Responsibilities
- Inspect raw materials for structural integrity and surface defects before processing
- Position and cut leathers, fabrics, and other materials using optimal balance of quality, efficiency, and consumption
- Operate cutting machines including digital cutters, hydraulic presses, and related equipment
- Perform preparatory operations such as edge trimming and machine finishing
- Configure, calibrate, and maintain cutting equipment, dies, templates, and work surfaces
- Execute first-level maintenance and cleaning protocols for cutting and preparation machinery
- Utilize production management software for data entry and transactional tasks
- Support manufacturing and industrialization teams with cutting requirements and technical consultation
- Collaborate with external suppliers to transfer and verify cutting expertise against Chanel quality standards
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to evolve cutting methodologies and digital cutting technologies
- Adapt flexibly to production volume fluctuations driven by seasonal collection schedules
Qualifications
- CAP (Certificat d'Aptitude Professionnelle) or Bac Pro qualification in leather goods manufacturing or tanning
- Demonstrated first-hand experience in cutting operations within the leather goods or textile sector
- Proficiency in reading leather hides and identifying surface defects
- Competency with cutting machinery, dies, and preparation equipment
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and production requirements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to zero-defect quality standards
Skills
Experience
Minimum three to five years of documented experience in leather goods cutting, material preparation, or related artisanal production environment. Prior exposure to seasonal production cycles and multi-collection scheduling is advantageous.
Education
