Role & Responsibilities
- Handcraft and assemble leather goods to Chanel quality specifications, including cutting, skiving, stitching, gluing and edge finishing.
- Execute traditional techniques (saddle stitch, hand-seaming, welt finishing) and operate specialised leatherworking machinery as required.
- Interpret technical patterns and production dossiers to ensure dimensional accuracy and aesthetic fidelity.
- Perform in-line quality control and final inspection, identifying and rectifying defects to maintain brand standards.
- Maintain tools, machines and work area to artisanal safety and housekeeping standards; report maintenance needs.
- Collaborate closely with design, prototyping and production teams to refine processes and support small-series production or bespoke requests.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior artisans when required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in luxury leather goods manufacturing or an artisanal leather workshop (recommended 3+ years).
- Demonstrable mastery of hand-stitching, skiving, edge finishing and leather assembly techniques.
- Ability to read and execute technical drawings, patterns and production dossiers.

- Familiarity with a range of leathers and components and understanding of their behaviour during processing.
