Chanel in Verneuil-en-Halatte seeks a Leather Goods Apprentice for an apprenticeship in the maison's leather goods atelier.
Role & Responsibilities
- Train under master artisans in an atelier environment to produce leather accessories and small leather goods to Chanel quality standards.
- Perform hands-on tasks including cutting, skiving, stitching (hand and machine), edge finishing and assembly of components for bags and leather accessories.
- Prepare and maintain tools, operate industrial and specialty sewing machines, and ensure cleanliness and organisation of the workstation.
- Participate in prototype construction and sample adjustments, following technical drawings, patterns and production instructions precisely.
- Carry out in-process quality checks and final inspections, reporting defects and suggesting corrective measures to supervisors.
- Adhere to workplace safety, material handling procedures and the maison's craftsmanship guidelines at all times.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in or recently accepted to a vocational training programme in maroquinerie/leatherwork (CAP, Bac Pro, BTS or equivalent apprenticeship pathway).
- Demonstrable manual dexterity, fine motor skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong interest in luxury leather goods and commitment to learning traditional artisanal techniques.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work collaboratively within a small atelier team.
Skills
Experience
No prior professional experience required; previous practical experience through school workshops, internships, or personal practice in leatherworking is advantageous.
Education
Enrolment in a vocational training programme (e.g., CAP/Bac Pro/BTS) specialising in maroquinerie, leatherwork or related artisanal crafts.
