Role & Responsibilities
- Press high-quality luxury textiles using appropriate techniques for various fibers and constructions
- Perform stain identification, marking, and determination of optimal cleaning methods
- Conduct pre-brushing and preliminary stain removal trials under workshop supervisor guidance
- Execute stain removal on straightforward garments and prepare complex pieces for specialist treatment
- Operate washing machines, select appropriate programs, and manage final drying processes
- Sort cleaned articles onto garment racks and prepare pieces for pressing
- Perform general quality control and final self-inspection of completed work
- Assist with protective bagging and packaging of finished garments
- Maintain and organize workstations, tools, and supplies according to production standards
- Report technical issues to the Workshop Manager and adhere to lean production scheduling
- Participate in textile sorting and segregation by fiber content and care requirements
- Count and track pressed garments through the production workflow
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in pressing and alterations, preferably in luxury textile care
- Advanced knowledge of textile fiber properties and their behavior during cleaning and pressing
- Demonstrated expertise in professional pressing operations including sorting, stain removal, washing, drying, and finishing
- Familiarity with specialized cleaning procedures and fiber-specific treatment protocols
