Chanel seeks a Laboratory Technician at Verneuil-en-Halatte to perform quality control testing on luxury leather goods and materials.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Receive and register laboratory samples, managing priorities according to internal requests
  • Prepare and perform comprehensive testing on raw materials (leather, textiles) and finished goods (leather goods and small leather goods) following established protocols
  • Execute mechanical, physicochemical, and performance testing according to laboratory methodologies
  • Ensure full traceability of all tests in compliance with laboratory best practices and contribute to quality initiatives including internal audits and corrective actions
  • Analyze and interpret test results, applying critical analytical thinking to data evaluation
  • Draft test reports and communicate findings to internal clients; provide expert guidance in cases of non-conformance
  • Propose adaptations to testing protocols to address specific requests and technical challenges, in collaboration with Development and Materials teams
  • Manage regulatory testing with external laboratory partners and transmit results
  • Mentor new team members by sharing best practices and technical knowledge
  • Perform verification of measuring equipment and conduct first-level maintenance
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing protocols, laboratory organization, workflows, and measurement reliability
  • Participate in drafting and updating technical standard operating procedures
  • Uphold and enforce laboratory hygiene, safety, and quality standards
  • Contribute to client projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Advanced educational qualification in physical measurements, chemistry, or materials science (Bac+2 or Bac+3 equivalent minimum)
  • Laboratory or quality control experience, preferably in fashion or chemical industry
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical and synthetic reasoning capability
  • Proficiency with standard office software tools
  • Self-directed approach to work organization while maintaining collaborative team participation
