Chanel recruits Quality Control Laboratory Technician in Compiègne, France for its Perfumes & Beauty manufacturing division.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct systematic controls on raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products according to established internal methodologies to authorize release for consumer use
- Perform dosage analyses, analytical testing, organoleptic evaluation (aspect, color, odor, sensorial properties), and physicochemical measurements (pH, density, viscosity, texture measurement, colorimetry)
- Execute finished product analyses including appearance verification, lot code validation, seal integrity testing, and consumer safety protocol compliance
- Conduct microbiological analyses as required by cosmetic industry standards
- Verify manufacturing and packaging batch documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Identify and document non-conformities and anomalies, apply 5M root cause methodology, propose corrective and preventive actions, and oversee implementation
- Prepare technical reports, syntheses, and performance summaries
- Maintain collaborative partnerships with production and planning teams, research & development interfaces, and external business partners
Qualifications
- Secondary education (Bac+2 or Bac+3) in biochemistry, chemistry, or microbiology
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or food manufacturing industries
- Mastery of laboratory control equipment and testing methodologies
- Comprehensive knowledge of cosmetic materials, products, and quality, safety, and hygiene regulations
- Proficiency with ISO 22716 (Good Manufacturing Practice for Cosmetics) certification or equivalent knowledge
- Competency with information systems (SAP, Microsoft Office suite)
- Strong organizational abilities with capacity to prioritize tasks and manage production-related emergencies

3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in quality control, product testing, or laboratory analysis within pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or food manufacturing environments. Demonstrated expertise in operating analytical equipment, applying control methodologies, and maintaining regulatory compliance in a fast-paced production setting.
Education
Bachelor-level qualification (Bac+2 minimum, Bac+3 preferred) in biochemistry, chemistry, or microbiology. Formal training in cosmetic science, quality assurance, or related laboratory disciplines is advantageous.
