Chanel is recruiting a Knitwear Designer Assistant internship in Paris for September 2026 to support the creation of luxury knitwear collections.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist senior knitwear designers in the development of collections from concept to production
- Support the creation of technical specifications, patterns, and knit constructions for seasonal collections
- Conduct research on knit techniques, yarns, and material innovations to inform design direction
- Participate in fittings and sampling sessions to evaluate prototypes and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain detailed design documentation and technical files for collection tracking and reference
- Collaborate with merchandising and product development teams to ensure design feasibility and commercial viability
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate from a fashion design program with specialization in knitwear
- Demonstrated proficiency in design software and technical drawing
- Strong understanding of knit construction, yarn selection, and garment engineering
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with ability to work within a collaborative studio environment
- Familiarity with Chanel's aesthetic and brand codes
Skills
Experience
Early-stage experience or academic coursework in fashion design with focus on knitwear; familiarity with luxury fashion production standards highly valued.
Education
Current enrollment or recent completion of a degree program in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related discipline; specialization in knitwear design preferred.
