Chanel — Paris: IT Retail POS Assistant internship for Europe (Stage), July 2026. Support boutique POS systems and deployments across Chanel's European network.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-line support for point-of-sale (POS) systems across Chanel boutiques in Europe, including troubleshooting hardware and software incidents.
- Assist in POS deployments, software updates and configuration changes in coordination with regional IT teams and external vendors.
- Test POS releases, peripheral compatibility and integration points (payment terminals, barcode scanners, printers) and document results.
- Contribute to incident tracking via ticketing platforms; escalate complex issues to service providers and follow through to resolution.
- Produce clear end-user documentation and quick-reference guides; support local store teams with on-site or remote training for new features.
- Monitor system performance and compile regular reports on incident trends, uptime and service requests to inform continuous improvement.
- Support cross-border coordination for European rollouts, ensuring compliance with regional payment and data-security requirements.
- Participate in ad hoc IT projects related to retail systems and collaborate with merchandising, operations and clienteling teams as required.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical aptitude and methodical problem-solving approach; attention to detail in documentation and testing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical retail staff.
- Capacity to work across time zones and coordinate with international stakeholders; willingness to travel to boutiques when required.
- Fluency in English for day-to-day collaboration; conversational French is advantageous.
- Availability for the internship period beginning July 2026 as specified in the placement.

Internship-level role; no professional experience required though prior exposure to retail environments, technical support or a previous IT internship is highly desirable.
Education
Enrolled in a higher education programme (Bachelor's or Master's) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications or equivalent.
