Chanel seeks an Inventory Specialist in Palo Alto to manage stock accuracy, cycle counts and inventory systems for its boutique.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day stock operations for the Palo Alto boutique, including goods receiving, tagging (RFID/barcode), storage and replenishment.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits; investigate and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and the ERP/POS.
- Update inventory records promptly and accurately in the store’s inventory management system and escalate unresolved variances to store management.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing transfers with regional logistics and distribution teams to ensure timely availability of merchandise.
- Implement and enforce loss-prevention protocols and secure handling procedures for high-value product.
- Prepare inventory reports and KPIs for store leadership, including shrinkage analysis and stock ageing.
- Maintain an orderly, accessible stockroom that conforms to brand quality and visual standards; assist with merchandising readiness when required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of inventory, stockroom or retail operations experience, preferably within luxury retail.
- Proven experience with cycle counting, stock reconciliation and inventory audits.
- Familiarity with RFID and barcode scanning workflows; experience using POS and ERP/inventory systems.
- Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail and organisational discipline.
- High degree of discretion and professionalism handling high-value merchandise.
- Ability to lift and move product safely (typical retail stockroom physical demands).
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Skills
Experience
At least 2 years of hands-on inventory or stock control experience in a retail environment; experience in luxury retail strongly preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in business, supply chain or retail operations preferred.
