Chanel seeks an Intellectual Property Paralegal in Geneva, Switzerland to support global IP enforcement and brand protection across multiple jurisdictions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support global enforcement and anti-counterfeiting activities, including coordination of customs seizures and external partner collaboration
  • Manage online monitoring and takedown programmes across marketplaces, social media, and websites
  • Assist with investigations into infringing activities and supply chain intelligence
  • Prepare and manage cease-and-desist letters and infringement correspondence
  • Provide support on infringement, opposition, and cancellation matters, including pre-action research and case follow-up
  • Conduct trademark clearances searches in various jurisdictions and provide risk analysis to legal counsel
  • Manage filings, prosecution, maintenance, and recordals of trademarks, designs, and domain names
  • Handle official correspondence and deadline management with trademark offices and WIPO
  • Maintain IP database records, ensuring accurate data entry and rigorous deadline tracking
  • Conduct legal and online research, prepare reports, and support internal presentations
  • Monitor and communicate developments in enforcement practices, technologies, and relevant legal frameworks

Qualifications

  • Law degree with specialization in Intellectual Property preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Intellectual Property with focus on brand protection
  • Familiarity with online enforcement tools, digital platforms, and IP databases including WIPO, EUIPO, and national IP offices
  • Prior experience with legal or IP document and data management systems
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy combined with ability to see the bigger picture
  • Proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong team spirit and global mindset with ability to collaborate across regions and cultures
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Fluency in English and French; additional languages a plus
