The Industrial Scale-Up Technician joins CHANEL’s Pilot Care & Toiletries Laboratory within its Research and Development center in Pantin, proposing and validating industrialization conditions for new formulas and supporting their transfer to production. The role covers pilot trials, process risk assessment, physicochemical testing, factory transfer documentation and initial production runs. Permanent contract (CDI).
Role & Responsibilities
- Assess process risks and technical challenges related to technological differences and scale-up.
- Work with formulators to understand the technical requirements of each formula.
- Develop test plans to mitigate risks and write pilot operating procedures incorporating safety, ergonomics and eco-process constraints.
- Manage the physical flows required for pilot-scale transfers.
- Carry out physicochemical testing, critically assess results and propose corrective actions where necessary.
- Prepare operating procedures and factory transfer dossiers with optimized industrialization conditions.
- Monitor initial production runs at the manufacturing site.
- Play a key role in resolving industrialization issues.
- Support the service’s continuous improvement, quality and safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with quality and health, safety and environmental requirements within the assigned scope.
- Propose and validate industrialization conditions for new formulas in line with the brand’s CSR commitments, quality and lead-time criteria, and safety instructions.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in R&D or in the cosmetics-pharmaceutical industry.
- Good knowledge of and sensitivity to makeup products.
- Previous experience developing and/or transferring cosmetics-pharmaceutical products.
- Proficiency with Word and Excel; SAP proficiency is an advantage.
- Organized, curious and solution-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Education
Bac +2/3 qualification, such as a DUT or BTS in industrial pharmacy, chemistry, chemical engineering or process engineering.
