The Indirect Procurement Professional supports efficient, compliant, commercially sound, and responsible procurement across assigned indirect-spend categories in Korea. The role independently manages sourcing and contracting for recurring and lower-to-medium-complexity needs, supports the Indirect Procurement Manager on strategic or high-risk projects, and strengthens supplier governance, Source-to-Pay processes, digital adoption, and responsible procurement.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Independently manage end-to-end sourcing for assigned recurring, operational, and low-to-medium complexity goods and services.
  • Support the Indirect Procurement Manager on strategic, high-value, complex, or sensitive sourcing initiatives, including RFx preparation, supplier analysis, commercial comparisons, and negotiation preparation.
  • Clarify stakeholder requirements and prepare procurement documentation, including scopes of work, specifications, service levels, evaluation criteria, and timelines.
  • Prepare RFx materials, bid-comparison analyses, award documentation, and contract-request packages.
  • Conduct initial commercial and supplier analyses, identify variances and risks, and escalate issues for the Indirect Procurement Manager’s review.
  • Track value, including savings, cost control, compliance, and process-improvement benefits.
  • Serve as a responsive procurement contact for assigned stakeholders and categories, providing practical guidance on sourcing, contracting, policy, and process.
  • Encourage early Indirect Procurement involvement and identify opportunities to consolidate demand, improve specifications, and plan renewals more effectively.
  • Explain procurement processes and requirements clearly and practically, balancing business needs with governance requirements.
  • Escalate stakeholder conflicts, sourcing-route disagreements, late engagement, and non-compliance risks to the Indirect Procurement Manager as appropriate.
  • Collect user feedback and identify recurring pain points addressable through templates, training, automation, or process improvements.
  • Conduct and maintain supplier due diligence and risk assessments using relevant tools, including BvD, in accordance with CHANEL requirements.
  • Maintain a supplier-risk tracker for Indirect Procurement-managed suppliers, including assessment status, risk ratings, mitigation actions, reassessment dates, and outstanding documentation.
  • Regularly monitor supplier risk and promptly escalate material financial, legal, reputational, operational, compliance, or sustainability concerns.
  • Prepare risk summaries and procurement input for Risk Committee discussions; attend as the Indirect Procurement representative when requested by the Indirect Procurement Manager.
  • Coordinate and track cross-functional assessments and approvals, including Information Security, data privacy, Health & Safety, Insurance, Legal, Compliance, Sustainability, and ICRM.
  • Support supplier onboarding, periodic reassessment, performance-review preparation, corrective-action follow-up, renewal controls, and supplier offboarding.
  • Act as the local operational owner and subject-matter resource for Korea’s Source-to-Pay Policy and Processes.
  • Deliver policy and process training with the relevant teams for new and existing end users.
  • Develop and maintain user guides, templates, checklists, FAQs, and training materials that support compliant purchasing.
  • Monitor procurement KPIs and dashboards, following up with stakeholders on KPI gaps, incomplete documentation, overdue actions, and policy exceptions.
  • Ensure procurement records, supplier data, sourcing documentation, and system data are complete, accurate, and up to date.
  • Identify recurring process failures and propose automation, workflow, dashboard, AI, or system-enhancement opportunities to the Indirect Procurement Manager and APAC or Global teams.
  • Integrate ESG, sustainability, and responsible-procurement requirements into RFx documents, supplier selection, contracting, and supplier reviews.
  • Coordinate onboarding and engagement of in-scope suppliers in sustainability initiatives, including supplier communication, status tracking, and follow-up.
  • Support CSR audits, ESG due diligence, and corrective-action follow-up where relevant, in collaboration with Sustainability, Legal, Risk, and Business Units.
