Chanel seeks Import Operations Specialist in Chiba, Japan. Manage international trade operations, ERP systems, and global logistics for luxury products.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee arrangement and management of import and export operations for Chanel products, promotional items, and special request goods
- Perform daily data entry and operations management using Microsoft AX ERP system
- Manage international transportation issues including damage claims, mis-deliveries, and logistics troubleshooting
- Administer leather shoe tariff quotas through applications to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and track quota utilization
- Coordinate with Global Logistics team on re-invoice processing, transportation efficiency optimization, reporting, and cross-functional projects
- Support import and export activities for business department events and campaigns, including ATA Carnet operations
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, oversee transportation service agreements, conduct periodic business reviews, and manage EU-Japan EPA applications
- Liaise with IT department and external system integrators on IT projects, system maintenance, management, and RPA implementations
- Train and provide guidance to temporary staff members within the operations team
- Participate in global freight forwarder competitive bidding processes conducted biennially
Qualifications
- University degree
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience in international trade operations
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience
- Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically Microsoft AX
- Experience in labor management, work guidance, and staff training
- Native-level Japanese language proficiency
- Business-level or higher English proficiency (reading, writing, conversation)
- Experience participating in and executing global projects

Experience
More than 5 years of hands-on experience in international trade operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership capacity. Demonstrated expertise in ERP system operations, labor management, and guidance of temporary staff. Proven ability to participate in and contribute to global projects. Experience within luxury brands, fashion, or cosmetics industries is highly valued.
