Chanel Parfums Beauté seeks an HSE Engineer for a 5-month contract in Pantin, France—chemical risk, regulatory compliance, and project leadership.
Role & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and control chemical hazards through product inventory, risk assessment updates (EVRC), and new chemical product validation and approval processes
- Support teams in substituting Category 1 and 2 CMR substances; plan and monitor occupational exposure limit (VLEP) measurement campaigns and track employee exposure
- Monitor evolving regulations and implement corresponding preventive actions
- Conduct training and awareness initiatives on chemical hazards, ATEX, contractor management, and digitalize training delivery
- Analyze accidents, near-misses, and hazardous situations to identify root causes and implement targeted prevention measures
- Define, pilot, and track HSE action plans related to chemical risk, ATEX, hazardous materials transport (TMD), regulatory requirements, and audit findings
- Oversee deployment of contractor management processes, ensuring stakeholder alignment with prevention plans and HSE requirements
- Lead an environmental project to develop reusable laboratory consumables, reducing waste in collaboration with operational teams
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across health, safety, and environmental domains
- Maintain waste registers, environmental permits, and prefectural authorizations; ensure annual environmental reporting
Qualifications
- Master's degree or Engineering diploma (Bac+5) in Chemistry with specialization in HSE or risk prevention
- Proficiency in CLP regulation and chemical risk assessment methodologies
- Knowledge of ATEX and TMD regulations (advantageous)
- First professional experience in chemical industry or laboratory environments
- Strong analytical, synthesis, and communication skills
