Chanel seeks Head of Marketing for Fragrance & Beauty in New York; lead luxury brand strategy, manage marketing teams, $256K–$400K base salary.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Champion Chanel's brand equity and heritage across all marketing initiatives, translating global brand strategies into locally relevant, high-impact plans that reinforce the House's leadership in US luxury fragrance and beauty markets
  • Demonstrate strategic mastery of fragrance, skincare, and makeup categories, orchestrating locally relevant activations while guiding category teams to balance long-term brand equity building with short-term business performance
  • Lead end-to-end development and implementation of integrated marketing campaigns in partnership with Brand Communication, Digital and Client Experience, Artistic Direction, and Retail teams
  • Commission and interpret marketing intelligence, consumer research, competitive analysis, and trend forecasting to inform strategy, translating customer data and market insights into articulated action plans
  • Conduct the full marketing ecosystem with a strategic mindset, ensuring coherent, elevated, and culturally resonant brand expression at every touchpoint of the client's journey
  • Bring sophisticated understanding of modern fragrance and beauty client journeys across online and offline ecosystems, partnering with DCX and Retail teams to ensure seamless experiences reflecting the House's standards
  • Inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of operational excellence aligned with Chanel's image and values
  • Lead with agility in an evolving organization, continuously assessing what to automate, augment, or eliminate while focusing teams on brand priorities and high-value work
  • Develop strong relationships with global and regional stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment, represent the voice of the US market to influence global strategy, and provide sharp market insights to global partners

Qualifications

  • Minimum 20 years of overall professional experience with 15+ years of specific marketing experience in luxury fragrance, skincare, and/or makeup categories
  • Demonstrated product sensibility and deep fluency in fragrance and beauty brand equity building within the US competitive and diverse market environment
  • Proven track record leading high-performing teams and leaders of teams with strong people development capabilities
  • Visionary and strategic thinker with strong executional discipline, able to balance brand heritage with innovative, out-of-the-box thinking
  • Deep cultural intuition, trend curiosity, and understanding of premium US consumer psychology across diverse demographics
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to transform insights into actionable strategy and measure success against KPIs
  • Holistic expertise of modern omni-channel client journeys and understanding of client-centric communication automation tools and digital/AI impact on marketing
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management skills
  • Comfortable leading by influence in complex environments, leveraging centers of expertise while challenging assumptions and connecting strategic dots

Experience

Minimum 20 years of professional experience with at least 15+ years in marketing roles, preferably within luxury fragrance, skincare, or makeup sectors. Demonstrated expertise in leading cross-functional teams, managing large budgets, translating consumer insights into actionable strategy, and executing integrated marketing campaigns in competitive, fast-moving markets. Prior experience in a luxury conglomerate or similar complex organizational environment with exposure to global brand strategy, regional customization, and omni-channel client engagement is strongly preferred.

Education

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
