Chanel seeks a Generative AI Assistant Intern in Paris (Sept 2026) to support Europe-wide AI projects, model prototyping and cross‑functional deployment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support pan‑European generative AI initiatives: collect, clean and curate datasets; coordinate annotation tasks and maintain data hygiene.
- Prototype, fine‑tune and evaluate LLM‑based proofs of concept and features; run experiments, track metrics and iterate on model performance.
- Design and optimise prompts and retrieval‑augmented generation pipelines to ensure outputs align with Chanel’s brand voice and content standards.
- Implement reproducible development workflows using Python, ML frameworks and tooling; version code in Git and package experiments with Docker where appropriate.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, marketing, legal, IT and regional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications and ensure GDPR compliance.
- Monitor model outputs for quality, bias and safety; prepare clear technical reports, dashboards and presentations for stakeholders.
- Document methodologies, datasets and reproducible recipes; contribute to knowledge transfer and onboarding materials for internal teams.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master's or equivalent program in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics or a related discipline.
- Strong programming ability in Python with practical experience building and evaluating machine learning models.
- Practical knowledge of large language models, prompt engineering and techniques for model fine‑tuning and evaluation.
- Familiarity with data protection principles (GDPR) and experience implementing anonymisation or consent workflows is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to present technical work clearly to non‑technical stakeholders. English required; French proficiency is an advantage.
