Chanel Fitting Tailor position in Copenhagen | Expert alterations, luxury clienteling, and Perfect Fit delivery

Role & Responsibilities

  • Execute expert alterations on ready-to-wear garments using CHANEL-specific techniques including Flat Pinning and ribbon methodology, ensuring invisible adjustments that preserve garment integrity
  • Analyze garment cuts, identify irregularities, and propose tailored adjustments while maintaining fidelity to the original design aesthetic
  • Build trust-based relationships with clients through active listening, keen observation, and anticipatory communication during fittings
  • Partner with Fashion Advisors to orchestrate seamless fitting experiences, including VIC appointments and exclusive events, transforming technical precision into moments of wonder
  • Manage end-to-end alteration services and workflows, maintaining agreed timelines and communicating proactively with boutique teams
  • Mentor boutique staff, apprentices, and new tailors, actively contributing to the preservation and understanding of CHANEL's tailoring heritage
  • Maintain presence in the ready-to-wear area to highlight the importance of tailoring during collection launches and quieter periods
  • Monitor and analyze atelier KPIs, proposing and supporting action plans to continuously enhance activity management
  • Serve as a tailoring voice for the boutique, providing insights to strengthen the CHANEL&moi ready-to-wear program
  • Report directly to the RTW Sales Manager while maintaining dotted-line collaboration with the CHANEL&moi RTW & École de la Retouche team in Paris

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in garment analysis, fitting methodology, and alteration techniques specific to luxury ready-to-wear
  • Mastery of CHANEL tailoring standards, Flat Pinning, and ribbon techniques
  • Proven ability to work with precision in measuring, sewing, mirror work, and quality control
  • Deep knowledge of CHANEL stylistic codes and brand heritage
  • Strong interpersonal and non-verbal communication skills for client engagement
  • Ability to recognize competitive collection styles and articulate CHANEL tailoring differentiation
  • Proficiency with atelier management tools and digital systems for KPI tracking
  • Experience working within luxury retail or boutique environments

Experience

Education

Formal tailoring qualification or apprenticeship in garment construction and alteration techniques is preferred. Training through CHANEL's École de la Retouche or equivalent advanced tailoring program is highly valued.
