Chanel is hiring a Finance and Operations Business Partner (maternity cover) in London to support Global, Africa & Middle East finance and operations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary finance partner to Global and Africa & Middle East business units, providing commercial financial insight to support decision‑making.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and rolling‑forecast processes; produce variance analysis and scenario modelling to inform strategic priorities.
  • Own monthly and quarterly management reporting, ensuring accurate P&L, balance sheet and working capital analyses for senior stakeholders.
  • Support month‑end close activities and coordinate with accounting, tax and treasury teams to ensure timely and compliant financial reporting.
  • Drive operational finance initiatives and process improvements to enhance controls, efficiency and KPI visibility across markets.
  • Prepare board‑quality presentations and ad‑hoc financial analyses for senior management and regional leaders.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (commercial, supply chain, retail operations) to translate commercial plans into financial targets and monitor performance.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
  • Proven technical knowledge of FP&A processes, month‑end close and management reporting.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate business strategy into financial metrics.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the capacity to manage competing priorities in a dynamic luxury retail environment.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of progressive finance experience, ideally within FP&A, business partnering or operational finance roles in luxury retail, fashion, consumer goods or a global matrix organisation; demonstrable record of partnering with commercial teams and delivering actionable financial insight.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred.
