Chanel is hiring a Fashion Visual Merchandiser in Shanghai — lead window and in-store visuals, adapt global concepts to local retail.
Role & Responsibilities
- Interpret and implement global seasonal directives and visual campaigns across Shanghai retail locations, ensuring cohesive storytelling and brand fidelity.
- Design, plan and execute window displays, in-store vignettes and merchandising schemes that optimise product presentation and elevate client experience.
- Adapt global concepts to local store footprints and customer behaviours, producing detailed plans, CAD layouts, materials lists and installation schedules.
- Collaborate with retail operations, store managers and regional teams to coordinate roll-outs, manage timelines and resolve on-site challenges.
- Source, commission or supervise production of props, fixtures and signage; manage relationships with vendors, installers and atelier teams.
- Deliver in-store training and best-practice coaching for sales teams on merchandising standards, product rotation and story presentation.
- Monitor visual performance using KPIs (sell-through, conversion, footfall) and produce post-implementation reports with actionable recommendations.
- Maintain visual merchandising inventories, manage budgets for displays and ensure timely maintenance and decommissioning of installations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in visual merchandising, fashion, design, interior design or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrable portfolio of luxury retail visual work, with strong window and fixture design examples.
- Deep understanding of luxury retail standards, product storytelling and high-touch client environments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, with strong organisational and vendor-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; experience training frontline teams in merchandising execution.

Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of progressive visual merchandising experience within luxury fashion retail or premium department stores, including responsibility for multi-store rollouts and local adaptation of global campaigns.
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma in visual merchandising, fashion, design, interior design or related field preferred.
