Chanel seeks a Fashion Repair Technician in Taipei City to perform luxury garment and leather-goods repairs and couture alterations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Execute repairs, alterations and restorations on couture garments, ready-to-wear, and leather goods to Chanel quality standards.
  • Perform precision hand-finishing and machine sewing techniques including pick-stitching, saddle stitch and invisible hems.
  • Diagnose fabric and construction issues; propose and implement appropriate repair solutions while preserving original design integrity.
  • Operate and maintain industrial sewing equipment, overlock/serger and pressing/steaming apparatus; ensure tooling is calibrated and serviceable.
  • Collaborate closely with boutique client services and ateliers to manage bespoke repair requests and communicate timelines to clients.
  • Document repairs and maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used and client instructions.
  • Manage inventory of repair materials, threads, linings and consumables; requisition specialty supplies as required.
  • Uphold strict quality control, final inspection and packaging procedures prior to return to client or store.

Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma or equivalent qualification in tailoring, fashion technology, or leatherwork; formal apprenticeship preferred.
  • Minimum three years' hands-on experience in luxury apparel alterations, couture repairs or leather goods restoration.
  • Proven track record working to luxury brand quality standards and attention to artisanal detail.
  • Strong manual dexterity and eye for colour, texture and seam alignment.
  • Ability to read and interpret garment construction and basic patterns.
  • Professionalism, discretion and experience liaising with high-net-worth clients is an advantage.
