Chanel is hiring an Event Specialist in Tokyo to plan and deliver client events and brand activations for its boutiques.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and execute client-facing events and brand activations in Tokyo, from concept through on-site delivery and post-event reporting.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, timelines and vendor contracts while ensuring adherence to Chanel brand standards and quality expectations.
  • Own guest list management, invitations, RSVPs and VIP / client relations in close partnership with clienteling and boutique teams.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including marketing, PR, visual merchandising and retail operations to align creative and logistical requirements.
  • Supervise on-site event production: venue setup, audio-visual, catering, staffing, security and client hospitality.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and manage third-party vendors to secure competitive terms and high-quality execution.
  • Document event outcomes, compile attendee feedback, and deliver post-event analysis with recommendations to improve future activations.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, permits, and health & safety requirements for public and private events.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in planning and executing high-end client events, experiential marketing or hospitality within luxury retail or fashion (typically 3–5 years).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendor contracts and complex event logistics with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills; experienced in working with PR agencies, boutique teams and senior client advisors.
  • Exceptional client service orientation with experience managing VIP guests and discreet client interactions.
  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise multiple concurrent projects and perform under tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in Japanese and strong professional command of English preferred for liaison with regional teams and international partners.
