Chanel is hiring a Divisional Communications Executive in New South Wales (Sydney) to lead regional PR, media relations and brand communications.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional communications and PR strategies aligned with global brand guidelines to elevate Chanel’s visibility across New South Wales.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with national and regional media, influencers and key industry stakeholders to secure high-quality earned coverage.
- Craft clear, on-brand messaging and produce editorial assets including press releases, media kits, feature pitches, talking points and executive briefs.
- Coordinate product launches, press previews, editorial events and experiential activations, overseeing logistics, guest lists and on-site brand representation.
- Manage external agencies and freelancers, ensuring deliverables meet strategic objectives, timelines and budget parameters.
- Monitor media coverage and evaluate campaign performance using quantitative and qualitative metrics; prepare regular performance reports and recommendations.
- Provide media training and briefing support for local spokespeople and cross-functional teams; act as first point of contact for regional media enquiries.
- Collaborate closely with global communications, marketing, retail and product teams to ensure consistent execution of brand initiatives and timely information flow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline; postgraduate study or professional PR qualification desirable.
- Proven track record (typically 4–7 years) in communications or PR, ideally within luxury fashion, beauty or premium retail.
- Established media relationships across Australia, with demonstrable success securing national and regional press placements.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to tone and brand voice.
- Experience managing agencies, budgets and complex events; strong organisational aptitude and ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
- Right to work in Australia and flexibility to travel within the region as required.

Typically 4–7 years of progressive communications/PR experience, with at least some background in luxury fashion, beauty, or premium retail; experience across both agency and in-house environments is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related field; postgraduate qualification or professional PR accreditation preferred.
