Chanel is seeking a Design Team Manager for its integrated leather goods workshop in Verneuil-en-Halatte. Reporting to the Development Manager, the role leads around 20 employees and coordinates the delivery of trials, mock-ups and prototypes in support of 6 to 8 collections annually.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead a team of around 20 direct reports, including pattern makers, prototype makers, a logistics agent and a flow coordinator, supporting 6 to 8 Chanel collections per year.
- Coordinate the material and human resources required to fulfil the Studio’s requests.
- Analyse the Studio’s requests, lead meetings, allocate workloads and implement the necessary technical resources.
- Manage the workshop’s annual schedule.
- Ensure that trials, mock-ups and prototypes are delivered for presentation to the Studio, in line with client commitments.
- Escalate delays, quality issues or excess workload, and propose alternative solutions.
- Improve the team’s understanding of the Studio’s aesthetic expectations.
- Support the team in developing products that can be consistently reproduced in production.
- Promote efficient resource use and skills development within the workshop.
- Develop team performance in quality, productivity and safety.
- Conduct annual performance reviews.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Higher education qualification at BAC+5 level.
- Proven, successful experience managing a team in a production environment, ideally in fashion or luxury.
- Sensitivity to French craftsmanship and a strong interest in products.
- Adaptability and flexibility, with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Leadership and the ability to persuade and engage a team.
- Curiosity, creativity and a proactive approach.

Experience
Proven, successful experience managing a team in a production environment, ideally in fashion or luxury.
Education
Higher education qualification at BAC+5 level.
