Chanel is recruiting a Demand Planner for its Fragrance & Beauty Products division in Tokyo. Lead demand forecasting and S&OP processes in this strategic supply chain role.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts at SKU and channel level by leveraging market trends, historical data, statistical models, and business insights
- Continuously monitor forecast performance including accuracy and bias, identifying drivers of variances and proposing corrective actions
- Support the monthly S&OP cycle by providing comprehensive data analysis and preparing materials to ensure alignment across Sales, Marketing, and Finance
- Prepare and analyze demand review materials by consolidating key insights, risks, and opportunities to support cross-functional decision-making
- Partner closely with Sales and Marketing teams to integrate commercial plans, product launches, and promotional activities into the demand plan
- Align with global supply chain teams to ensure forecast feasibility and optimize service levels and inventory coverage
- Balance product availability and inventory coverage targets to minimize both stock-outs and excess inventory while identifying and mitigating supply risks
- Track and report key performance indicators including forecast accuracy, inventory coverage, and air freight usage
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecast quality, reduce demand volatility, and optimize planning processes
- Communicate effectively with local and global stakeholders, providing transparency on demand outlook and key assumptions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher education qualification
- 3+ years of experience in demand and supply planning
- Experience in beauty, fashion, or FMCG sectors
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel including functions, formulas, and pivot tables
- Experience with Power Pivot and SQL (preferred)
- Strong logical thinking and advanced analytical skills with high numerical aptitude
- Ability to create comprehensive PowerPoint presentations from scratch
- Broad knowledge and understanding of retail and distribution industry dynamics
- Business-level English proficiency (TOEIC 800 or above preferred)

Experience
3+ years of experience in demand and supply planning within beauty, fashion, or FMCG industries. Proven track record of developing accurate demand forecasts, driving S&OP processes, and collaborating effectively across international teams.
Education
Bachelor's degree or higher in any discipline.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan.
Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from JPY 5,000,000 to JPY 8,000,000 per annum.
