Chanel is hiring a Data Science Intern in Geneva to support analytics and ML projects across retail and marketing.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the Data Science team in exploratory data analysis, feature engineering and model development for retail, marketing and product initiatives.
  • Prototype and evaluate machine‑learning models (classification, regression, clustering) and translate results into actionable business insights.
  • Prepare reproducible data pipelines and documentation, including ETL tasks and data quality checks.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with merchandising, retail operations and marketing stakeholders to understand requirements and present findings.
  • Contribute to model validation, performance monitoring and clear reporting of assumptions, limitations and business impact.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in or recent completion of a Master's or advanced Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Solid grounding in statistics, machine‑learning fundamentals and applied data analysis.
  • Proven programming ability in Python and SQL, with experience using data science libraries.
  • Excellent analytical rigour, attention to detail and ability to communicate technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive, collaborative mindset and capacity to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑disciplinary environment.

Experience

Academic projects or internships demonstrating applied data analysis and machine‑learning work; prior exposure to real‑world datasets and end‑to‑end model development is preferred but not mandatory.
