Chanel is seeking a Data Science and Predictive Modeling Intern for a six-month internship beginning in February 2027, supporting its Biostatistics and Epidemiology Research team. The intern will develop and evaluate data science, predictive modeling, and image-analysis approaches using complex research data, with an emphasis on robust, interpretable models and strict confidentiality.
Role & Responsibilities
- Contribute to developing and evaluating data science and predictive modeling methods applied to research data.
- Explore and analyze different types of data, including quantitative data and images, to identify relevant information and factors associated with the phenomena studied.
- Develop, test, and compare statistical and machine learning, deep learning, and AI approaches.
- Contribute to model interpretation, assess model robustness, and understand the key factors influencing predictions.
- Participate in the analysis, visualization, and scientific interpretation of results in collaboration with research teams.
Qualifications
- Bac+5 qualification from an engineering school specializing in data science, or a Master 2 in data science, biostatistics, applied mathematics, or artificial intelligence.
- Good command of Python and a solid foundation in statistics, machine learning, and predictive model evaluation.
- Experience in image-based deep learning, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and OpenCV is highly valued.
- Programming autonomy and the ability to build, validate, and interpret a complete image-modeling pipeline.
- R is an advantage for complementary statistical analyses and results visualization.
- Strict confidentiality is essential when working with non-public data and research topics.
