Role & Responsibilities

• Design and build machine learning and statistical models to address business questions across client intelligence, CRM, retail performance, merchandising, marketing, and operations
• Apply advanced techniques including propensity modelling, recommendation algorithms, forecasting, classification, clustering, uplift modelling, and anomaly detection to generate scalable solutions
• Prepare, transform, and engineer large-scale structured and unstructured datasets for modelling, experimentation, and analytical product development
• Develop reusable data science workflows, feature engineering logic, model training pipelines, and evaluation frameworks to improve scalability and repeatability
• Collaborate with data engineering and technology teams to ensure data pipelines, model inputs, and analytical datasets are reliable and fit for production use
• Develop and evaluate Generative AI solutions, including prompt-based workflows, retrieval-augmented generation, embedding pipelines, and LLM-enabled applications
• Define test-and-learn approaches, pilots, control groups, and impact measurement frameworks to validate recommendations and quantify business outcomes
• Support deployment of machine learning and AI solutions into production environments in partnership with technology teams
• Monitor model performance, accuracy, stability, and drift, identifying opportunities for retraining and optimization
• Document model logic, assumptions, limitations, performance metrics, and technical methodologies to ensure transparency and knowledge transfer
• Ensure AI and data science solutions are developed responsibly with appropriate attention to data privacy, explainability, model risk, security, and governance
• Stay abreast of emerging data science, GenAI, and AI capabilities, assessing their relevance for Chanel use cases

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience applying machine learning techniques to solve complex business problems
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and the data science ecosystem
• Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git-based workflows, model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Strong experience with cloud-based AI and machine learning platforms such as Databricks, AWS SageMaker, or Azure Machine Learning
• Experience designing pilots, A/B tests, control groups, and impact measurement frameworks
• Good understanding of Responsible AI principles including data privacy, security, explainability, bias mitigation, and governance controls
• Experience utilizing AI-native development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code
• Strong learning agility to keep pace with rapid AI evolution and adapt emerging capabilities into practical solutions
• Experience engaging with business stakeholders and translating complex analytical concepts into clear business language (preferred)

Skills

Experience

7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning engineering, or advanced analytics, with demonstrated expertise in building and deploying production-grade ML and AI solutions. Proven track record of translating business problems into analytical frameworks and delivering measurable business impact. Experience in luxury retail, e-commerce, CRM, or marketing analytics contexts is advantageous.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline. Master's degree or equivalent professional certification in Machine Learning, Data Science, or AI is preferred.
