Role & Responsibilities

  • Measure garments and assess fit during client fittings, applying Chanel's proprietary fitting ceremony protocol
  • Pin garments according to house standards and propose alterations that respect both the client's morphology and the collection's design intent
  • Complete alteration specification forms with precision and verify consistency of all technical details
  • Perform final fittings to ensure garment comfort and alignment with client requirements
  • Execute tailoring and finishing work including assembly, seaming, and quality control of altered pieces
  • Advise clients on alteration feasibility, timelines, potential cost implications, and impact on garment integrity
  • Record all alterations in the CASS tracking system to ensure full traceability
  • Monitor supply levels and equipment condition, ordering materials as required
  • Coordinate alterations with external specialists for leather and knitwear pieces
  • Lead Morning Brief presentations on alteration techniques and seasonal collection nuances
  • Deliver altered garments to clients or coordinate handover with the fashion advisor team

Qualifications

  • Formal training in tailoring/couture with specialized knowledge of both fluid and structured garment construction
  • Demonstrated proficiency in alterations across multiple fabric types and garment categories
  • Deep understanding of Chanel's design philosophy and aesthetic principles
