Chanel seeks an experienced Tailor & Alterations Specialist in Paris to perform luxury ready-to-wear alterations with exceptional precision and style.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute alterations to ready-to-wear garments following detailed alteration briefs and measurement specifications, ensuring precise adherence to Chanel design intent
- Review alteration instruction sheets thoroughly, interpret fitting notes and customer constraints, and record customer measurements in the Euveka system
- Assess and interpret garment pinning, organize alteration sequencing according to workload priority, and execute basting, assembly, and finishing techniques
- Press garments and conduct preliminary quality control assessments before submitting to the Head Tailor for final inspection and approval
- Maintain and monitor workshop equipment and supplies, alert supervisors to inventory and material needs, and ensure complete traceability of alteration work orders
- Adapt working methods to incorporate new technologies and innovations in alteration techniques as the House evolves its operational tools
- Provide supplementary support to team members during peak activity periods and contribute to workshop efficiency initiatives
- Participate in daily briefings, plenary sessions, and strategic workshops to understand boutique priorities and contribute to ready-to-wear performance objectives
- Embody Chanel codes and values as a brand ambassador within the boutique environment
Qualifications
- Formal training in couture with demonstrated expertise in both fluid and tailored garment construction
- Significant professional experience executing alterations in soft and structured fabrics
- Mastery of hand-stitching, machine construction, and finishing techniques aligned with haute couture standards
- Meticulous attention to detail with demonstrated precision in complex garment work

First significant professional experience in tailoring or alterations, preferably in luxury fashion or boutique environments
Education
Formal qualification in couture, dressmaking, or equivalent tailoring certification
