Chanel — Paris: Contracts & Audiovisual Rights Intern (Fashion Projects), internship starting September 2026.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the thematic fashion project team by monitoring project timelines, deliverables and contractual milestones related to campaigns, films and editorial collaborations.
  • Assist with drafting, reviewing and redlining contracts and ancillary documents covering audiovisual agreements, publishing/édition rights, licences and image releases under the supervision of senior counsel.
  • Coordinate rights-clearance processes and verify scope, territory and term clauses to secure necessary permissions for use, distribution and exploitation.
  • Maintain and update contract registers, trackers and filing systems to ensure accurate, audit-ready records.
  • Prepare briefing notes, summaries and negotiation memoranda for internal stakeholders (creative, production, marketing) and liaise with external counsel and production partners as required.
  • Contribute to risk reviews, IP due diligence and basic budgetary checks related to third-party talent and content procurement.

Qualifications

  • Enrolment in a Master-level law programme (Master 1/2) with a focus or strong interest in intellectual property, entertainment/media or contract law.
  • Prior internship experience in a legal department, law firm or rights-management role — ideally involving contracts, licensing or audiovisual projects.
  • Solid drafting and legal-analytical skills with meticulous attention to contractual detail and commercial implications.
  • Working knowledge of audiovisual and publishing/édition rights; familiarity with licensing structures and basic IP concepts.
  • Professional discretion, strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with creative and production teams.
  • Professional-level French and strong written and spoken English are highly desirable.

Experience
