Chanel seeks an experienced Cabinet & Prototype Carpenter for a fixed-term role in Pantin, France. Design and fabricate luxury retail furnishings and display installations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal architects, scenographers, and designers to interpret briefs, clarify requirements, and confirm deadlines and quality standards
  • Produce hand-drawn assembly schemas and technical sketches for fabrication
  • Conduct work risk assessments and implement appropriate safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Fabricate bespoke wooden decoration, display, and interior furnishing elements using both traditional hand tools and CNC machining centers
  • Measure dimensions with precision and cut, machine, and finish panels and components across the full range of workshop equipment
  • Operate portable power tools and machinery to exacting specifications
  • Assemble bespoke or specification furniture according to technical drawings
  • Execute finishing work, including veneering, painting, staining, varnishing, and first-level electrical installation as required
  • Install completed furnishings in showrooms, offices, events, warehouses, and regional Île-de-France sites
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness, tool organization, and equipment upkeep to professional standards

Qualifications

  • Formal carpentry or cabinet-making qualification
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in cabinetry fabrication, workshop production, and on-site installation
  • Advanced proficiency in traditional woodworking techniques including cutting, shaping, joining, and finishing
  • Demonstrated expertise in CNC and computer-aided machining operations
  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute technical drawings, engineering plans, and material specifications
  • Meticulous attention to detail with refined aesthetic sensibility
  • Strong safety consciousness and disciplined approach to risk management

Education

Formal carpentry, joinery, or cabinet-making qualification (CAP Menuiserie or equivalent).
