Chanel Tokyo seeks a Business Intelligence Intern to support analytics, dashboarding and commercial reporting for retail and digital channels.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the local Business Intelligence team in extracting, cleaning and validating retail and e‑commerce datasets.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and regular management reports that track sales, inventory and customer KPIs.
- Perform ad‑hoc analyses to answer commercial questions and quantify the impact of promotions, assortments and channel performance.
- Automate routine data pipelines and reporting tasks in collaboration with data engineering colleagues.
- Visualize insights and present clear, actionable recommendations to commercial, merchandising and digital partners.
- Contribute to data quality initiatives and documentation of BI processes and metrics.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical aptitude with attention to detail and an ability to translate data into business recommendations.
- Practical experience with spreadsheet analysis and querying large datasets; demonstrable coursework or project experience in analytics.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across commercial, digital and store teams.
- Availability for the full internship period and permission to work in Japan (if applicable).

Experience
Internship-level role; prior coursework or 1 or fewer internships in analytics, retail or e‑commerce environments is advantageous but not required. The candidate should demonstrate analytical projects or practical experience handling datasets.
Education
Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate programme (Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or similar).
