Chanel Business Applications Manager in Hong Kong & Macau – retail technology leadership role managing POS, omnichannel platforms, and digital solutions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for all business applications in Hong Kong and Macau, including POS systems (legacy and Oracle Xstore), traffic analytics, VM & Advisor tools, and corporate applications, ensuring alignment with regional/global platforms and omnichannel strategy
- Lead business solution analysis through requirement gathering, impact analysis, feasibility assessment, and solution definition in partnership with architects and regional teams; translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and user stories
- Facilitate workshops and processes to define business processes, user journeys, and functional needs; conduct cost-benefit analyses and evaluate solution alternatives to provide clear recommendations
- Own project planning, scope, timeline, and delivery tracking for business application initiatives; coordinate with regional teams and vendors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
- Drive change impact analysis and work closely with change managers to prepare business teams for system transitions, ensure user adoption of new tools and processes, and support training initiatives
- Serve as the local escalation point for application incidents and major issues; coordinate with regional IT teams and vendors for troubleshooting and resolution; monitor and improve service levels
- Ensure application service performance, reliability, and business continuity; manage local application lifecycle and disaster recovery coordination
- Maintain comprehensive application portfolio inventory and compliance with Chanel technology standards, governance frameworks, InfoSec policies, and data privacy regulations (including PDPO)
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with local business teams (Retail, Boutique Operations, Finance, People & Organization) and regional/global partners; communicate project status, risks, and outcomes proactively
- Identify and propose process improvement and optimization opportunities; assess application landscape for gaps and innovation potential; benchmark against luxury retail industry best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Business Applications, Business Systems Management, Business Analysis, solution design, or Retail/omnichannel technology environments
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end projects across multiple stakeholders (local, regional, vendors)
- Strong expertise in retail technology ecosystem: POS systems (preferably Oracle Xstore), Omnichannel integrations (OMS, eCommerce), Traffic analytics and boutique performance tools, Clienteling/CRM platforms
- Experience working in a luxury Maison or premium retail brand with high client experience expectations
- Exposure to ITIL/IT Service Management frameworks and incident/problem management processes
- Strong capability in requirement elicitation, process mapping, functional design, and testing cycles
- Proficiency in solutioning with architects and technical teams; experience conducting feasibility studies and solution evaluations
- Understanding of application lifecycle, system integration, data flows, solution architecture, data governance, IT security fundamentals, and data privacy regulations relevant to Hong Kong and Macau
- Fluency in English; Cantonese and/or Mandarin proficiency strongly advantageous

5+ years of experience in business applications management, business systems management, business analysis, solution design, or retail and omnichannel technology environments. The candidate must demonstrate proven success in delivering end-to-end projects spanning multiple stakeholders including local, regional, and vendor teams. Experience in luxury retail or premium brand environments, combined with hands-on exposure to POS systems (particularly Oracle Xstore), omnichannel integration platforms, traffic analytics, and clienteling solutions, is essential. Exposure to ITIL frameworks and IT service management practices is required. Additional experience with corporate application environments (ERP, HRIS, Finance systems) and data/analytics platforms is valued.
