Chanel is hiring a Boutique Sub Manager in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Lead boutique operations, sales and client service at the Chanel Sapporo boutique.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the boutique Manager in achieving sales targets, KPIs and daily operational objectives.
- Supervise, coach and schedule boutique staff to maintain high standards of client service and visual presentation.
- Deliver personalised clienteling, nurture key client relationships and ensure exceptional after-sales service.
- Oversee stock management, inventory accuracy, merchandising standards and compliance with loss-prevention procedures.
- Lead boutique opening/closing routines, cash handling and point-of-sale operations when required.
- Ensure strict adherence to Chanel brand standards, visual merchandising directives and local regulatory requirements.
- Handle client complaints and complex service escalations, liaising with regional teams as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven supervisory experience (typically 2+ years) in luxury retail, fashion or premium accessories.
- Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills with the ability to motivate a sales team to achieve targets.
- Strong customer-service orientation with experience in high-touch clienteling and relationship management.
- Solid understanding of boutique operations: inventory control, merchandising, cash management and compliance.
- Flexible availability including weekends and public holidays; willingness to work retail hours.
- Professional presentation and fluency in Japanese expected; conversational English is an advantage.
Skills
Experience
Minimum of two years in a supervisory or assistant-manager role within a luxury retail environment, preferably in fashion, leather goods or accessories. Experience managing sales targets, staff scheduling and boutique operations is required.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; further study in business, retail management, fashion or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory.
