The Beauty Advisor serves customers across CHANEL’s beauty categories, demonstrating and applying products, closing sales, managing boutique operations and developing customer relationships through appointments and follow-up. The role also supports product knowledge training, administrative routines and compliance with company policies.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist customers by identifying their needs and providing information on products, CHANEL launches and appropriate product use, while pursuing sales opportunities and upholding service standards.
- Demonstrate products, advise customers on their use, apply makeup and close sales.
- Organize products across the boutique’s Makeup and Nails, Fragrance, Eyes and Lips, Face, and Skincare sections.
- Check that products are correctly labeled and within their validity period, and flag irregularities.
- Review and analyze product quantities to focus sales efforts.
- Store products in designated locations.
- Keep service stations clean and orderly.
- Record sales in the system and process payments.
- Handle sales through WhatsApp Business, package products appropriately and dispatch them via Sedex once the responsible department confirms payment.
- Contact customers by email or WhatsApp Business to confirm receipt of their purchases.
- Coordinate with the Team Leader and suggest replenishment orders for testers in the assigned section.
- Inform the Team Leader when boutique stock is depleted and propose substitutes for communication to the team.
- Open and close the store in accordance with procedures.
- In the Team Leader’s absence, respond to emails and review the logbook for routine updates and pending actions.
- Send and receive document pouches containing sales slips, deposits, office documents and control logbooks.
- Acquire and build loyalty among new customers by making contact and scheduling makeup or skincare appointments.
- Reactivate inactive customers using birthday lists and supplementary lists provided by Marketing, and schedule makeup or skincare appointments.
- Build loyalty among VIP customers by completing profile forms for top customers and prospects to understand their individual profiles.
- Regularly review information about existing products using the training binders available in the boutiques.
- Study all new training materials carefully.
- Apply current training priorities in customer interactions and provide feedback to the training team.
- Comply with the Company’s Code of Ethics, CHANEL Human Resources procedures and policies, and Company grooming standards.
- Collaborate with the team, foster a positive working environment and maintain professional conduct.
- Exercise discretion regarding confidential Company matters.
- Remain flexible and open to constructive feedback.
- Pursue self-awareness to support personal and professional development, and handle boutique administrative routines, including responding to emails and reviewing the logbook for routine updates and pending actions.
