Chanel is hiring an FBP Assistant Training Manager in Shanghai to lead fragrance & beauty retail training and coaching for boutique teams.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, deliver and iterate retail training curricula for fragrance and beauty teams across Shanghai boutiques, including onboarding, product launches and seasonal campaigns.
- Coordinate and support a network of internal trainers and brand ambassadors; deliver ‘train-the-trainer’ sessions and cascade best practices to boutique staff.
- Manage the local training calendar and ensure timely execution of mandatory learning initiatives tied to commercial objectives.
- Maintain and administer the Learning Management System (LMS): upload content, track completions and generate performance reports.
- Conduct needs analyses, assess competency gaps, and develop bespoke coaching plans to uplift selling skills, product knowledge and service standards.
- Measure training effectiveness against KPIs (sales conversion, attach rates, customer experience scores) and report insights to regional training and retail leadership.
- Partner with merchandising, store operations and marketing to align training content with product assortments, visual standards and promotional activations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, education, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Proven instructional design experience and demonstrable ability to translate product knowledge into retail-facing learning modules.
- Strong presentation, facilitation and coaching abilities; comfortable leading groups and one-to-one development sessions.
- Analytical mindset with experience using training metrics to drive behavioural change and commercial outcomes.
- Professionalism, discretion and the capacity to represent a premium luxury brand in customer-facing and internal forums.
Skills
Experience
Typically 3+ years of learning & development or retail training experience, ideally within luxury beauty, cosmetics or high-end retail environments, with a track record of delivering measurable commercial impact through people development.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, education or related field; certifications in L&D or training (e.g., CIPD, ATD) are advantageous.
