Chanel — Assistant Product Manager in New York, NY (SoHo). Lead product execution, inventory and local merchandising for the SoHo boutique.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the boutique’s product strategy by executing local assortment plans, ensuring the SoHo boutique reflects brand directives and customer demand.
  • Manage daily stock operations: inventory control, replenishment, in-store transfers and stock accuracy to maximise sell-through.
  • Coordinate with central merchandising, allocation and buying teams to communicate local sell-through, demand signals and assortment adjustments.
  • Lead in-store product presentation and visual merchandising execution in close collaboration with visual teams to uphold brand standards.
  • Oversee merchandise flow during launches and seasonal drops, including receiving, quality control, tagging and sales floor placement.
  • Coach and support sales and clienteling teams on product knowledge, key silhouettes, materials and storytelling to improve conversion.
  • Prepare and maintain regular reports on sales performance, inventory KPIs and ageing stock to inform tactical decisions.
  • Act as a local ambassador for loss-prevention procedures and product integrity, ensuring accurate records and compliance with brand policies.
  • Assist the boutique manager with ad hoc projects, staff scheduling related to product events and cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Proven retail experience in luxury fashion, accessories or leather goods; preferably 3+ years with progressive responsibilities.
  • Demonstrable experience in merchandising, inventory management or product operations within a boutique or department-store environment.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring small teams, with the ability to coach sales advisors on product and commercial priorities.
  • Strong analytical aptitude with proven ability to interpret sales and inventory data to drive local assortment decisions.
  • Professional demeanour appropriate for a high-touch luxury environment and discretion when handling clients and sensitive information.
