Chanel in Paris seeks an Assistant, Materials & Textiles Coordination (Intern) for the Studio des Collections — internship starting Aug 2026.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the Studio des Collections team in the coordination and administration of materials and fabric samples for seasonal collections.
  • Receive, log and maintain physical swatches and sample inventories; ensure accurate labelling, archiving and sample flows between studios and suppliers.
  • Liaise with internal design, development and production teams to track material availability and delivery schedules.
  • Assist in sourcing and following up with external suppliers and mills, preparing sample requests and consolidating supplier communications.
  • Prepare and update material reference boards, sample books and technical documentation for design reviews and fittings.
  • Perform preliminary quality checks on incoming fabrics and trim; report discrepancies and escalate issues to senior team members.
  • Maintain and update digital databases and spreadsheets tracking composition, metrics, consumption and lead times.
  • Contribute to the preparation of internal presentations, fittings and show materials when required.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a tertiary program in Fashion, Textiles, Materials, Product Development or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrable interest and basic knowledge of fabric types, compositions and textile construction.
  • Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail and sample‑handling discipline.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders in a fast‑paced studio.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential design material.

Experience
