Role & Responsibilities

  • Support senior embroidery designers in conceiving and developing broderie concepts for ready-to-wear and couture collections.
  • Produce technical sketches, detailed flat drawings and material specifications for embroidery and embellishment work.
  • Assist in the preparation, sampling and fitting of embroidered prototypes in the sampleroom and ateliers.
  • Select threads, beads, sequins and trims and manage material swatches and suppliers for embroidery components.
  • Work closely with pattern cutting, moulding and production teams to ensure accurate placement and constructability of embroideries.
  • Document all stages of development: sample records, technical dossiers, bills of materials and quality checkpoints.
  • Participate in quality control of finished embroideries and support troubleshooting during atelier production.
  • Maintain the embroidery archive and contribute to trend research and inspiration boards.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in fashion design, textile design, surface ornamentation or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable interest in couture embroidery with a curated portfolio or photographic documentation of relevant work.
  • Strong manual dexterity and sensitivity to colour, texture and finishing details.
  • Capacity to translate creative sketches into precise technical instructions and sampling requests.
  • Discretion and respect for confidentiality of designs and collections.
  • Organisational rigour and ability to manage multiple samples and tight development timelines.
  • Professional communication skills and collaborative attitude when liaising with ateliers and suppliers.
