Chanel Perfumes & Beauty seeks an Analytical Research Technician in Pantin, France for an 8–9 month fixed-term contract in its Research and Development laboratory.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform analytical control and monitoring of cosmetic ingredients in production, from raw materials and intermediates through final ingredients
- Participate in analytical monitoring and quality assurance of ingredients under development internally or in partnership with external suppliers
- Support analytical tracking of newly developed natural ingredients
- Undertake characterization studies, stability monitoring, and definition of analytical specifications for ingredients in development
- Implement, develop, and adapt separation, identification, and quantification methods using available chromatographic techniques
- Exploit, interpret, and ensure traceability of analytical results within LIMS and SAP systems
- Draft study reports and analyses; present results to project teams
- Contribute to proper laboratory functioning and equipment maintenance, adhering to quality and safety standards
Qualifications
- Diploma at Bac+2/3 level in analytical chemistry
- Proficiency in principal chromatographic separation techniques, particularly liquid and/or gas chromatography
- Experience with analytical data exploitation, interpretation, and traceability
- Comfort with laboratory work and ability to manage multiple analytical activities in parallel
- Preferably: experience in analytical chemistry applied to natural products; background in mass spectrometry
- Advantageous: competencies in data processing, programming, databases, or business intelligence tools

Experience
Experience in analytical chemistry applied to natural products or cosmetic ingredients is preferred; demonstrated competency with chromatographic techniques and analytical instrumentation is essential.
Education
Diploma at Bac+2/3 (HND equivalent or higher national diploma) in analytical chemistry or a closely related field.
