Role & Responsibilities
- Uphold production standards and deliver alterations that embody the ultimate Chanel experience
- Fit garments on clients and execute a broad range of alterations including hemming, mending, lengthening, seam adjustments, and specialty work on beaded, leather, knit, and double-faced fabrics
- Organize and maintain client-owned pieces in accordance with Chanel standards and archive requirements
- Provide expert styling and fitting advice to clients during consultations
- Maintain current knowledge of Chanel-specific alteration techniques, fabrication properties, and luxury garment construction methodologies
- Ensure sewing machines and specialized equipment remain in optimal working condition
- Label client garments and maintain detailed records of required alterations and specifications
- Communicate directly with clients to understand their preferences, needs, and customization requirements
- Press and finish altered garments using irons and pressing equipment to Chanel specifications
- Foster positive team relationships throughout the boutique to inspire trust, collaboration, and operational excellence
- Support boutique opening and closing procedures, inventory receipt, and product shipping to optimize client service
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment
- Advanced technical expertise in specialty skills including leather work, knit construction, double-faced fabrications, beading, fine tailoring, and buttonhole finishing
- Comprehensive understanding of diverse fabrics and advanced sewing techniques
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within established timeframes
- Physical capability to lift 15 pounds regularly
- Flexible scheduling availability including evenings, weekends, and select holidays
