Chanel seeks an Alterations Specialist in Miami, FL for couture-level fittings and bespoke alterations at the Miami Design atelier.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute couture-level alterations and bespoke finishing on women's garments, maintaining Chanel standards for fit, drape and stitch quality.
- Conduct precise client measurements and fittings, advising clients and sales staff on fit adjustments, construction options and garment care.
- Interpret pattern modifications and implement complex alterations including re-lining, reshaping, sleeve and bodice refits, and couture hand-stitching techniques.
- Collaborate closely with design, sample room and retail teams to ensure timely delivery and fidelity to design intent.
- Maintain meticulous alteration records, work orders and garment provenance files to ensure traceability and confidentiality.
- Operate and maintain sewing machines, pressing equipment and specialized hand tools; ensure atelier equipment is calibrated and in secure, serviceable condition.
- Quality-check completed garments, perform final finishing and ensure presentation meets maison standards prior to client delivery.
- Mentor junior sewing staff or apprentices when required and contribute to continuous improvement of atelier processes.
Qualifications
- Professional training in tailoring, couture construction or equivalent vocational qualification.
- Demonstrable experience in luxury or couture garment alterations with a portfolio of prior work.
- Expertise in couture hand-stitching, fine seam finishing and complex fit corrections.
- Strong understanding of pattern anatomy and the ability to translate design adjustments to execution.
- Discreet, client-focused demeanour with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with private clientele.
- High attention to detail, punctuality and commitment to atelier standards of quality.

Experience
Minimum three years of progressive experience performing alterations and bespoke tailoring within a luxury fashion house, couture atelier, or bespoke tailoring environment.
Education
Vocational diploma or certificate in tailoring, dressmaking, fashion technology, or equivalent practical experience.
