Role & Responsibilities

  • Uphold production standards to deliver the ultimate Chanel experience to clients
  • Properly fit and alter a wide range of luxury garments, ensuring precision and accuracy
  • Organize and maintain client-owned pieces in accordance with Chanel expectations and specifications
  • Interact with clients to provide styling and fitting advice tailored to their preferences
  • Maintain current knowledge of Chanel-specific alteration techniques, including fabrication and styling of luxury garments
  • Ensure sewing machines and all equipment are maintained in proper working order
  • Build positive team relationships throughout the boutique to foster trust and collaboration
  • Execute alterations and repairs including hemming, mending, lengthening, and seaming adjustments
  • Fit garments on clients to determine appropriate alteration specifications
  • Construct bespoke garments according to client specifications and preferences
  • Label and record detailed alteration requirements for each client piece
  • Communicate with clients to understand their specifications, needs, and styling preferences
  • Use irons and pressing equipment to finish garments and remove creases

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in specialty techniques including leather work, knits, double-face fabrication, beading, and fine tailoring
  • Sound knowledge of diverse fabrics and advanced sewing techniques
  • Exceptional client service skills and proven ability to build lasting relationships
  • Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds regularly
  • Flexibility to accommodate late evenings, weekends, and holiday schedules
  • Capacity for in-store presence to support boutique operations including opening, closing, inventory receiving, and product shipping
