Chanel seeks an experienced Alterations Lead in Toronto to oversee bespoke tailoring services and manage a skilled team of tailors.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee all alterations and bespoke garment modification services across the location
- Train, mentor, and supervise alterations technicians and tailoring staff
- Maintain quality standards and ensure meticulous attention to detail in all garment work
- Manage alterations workflow, timelines, and customer delivery schedules
- Liaise with sales and client-facing teams to communicate alteration status and timelines
- Source and maintain inventory of materials, threads, and specialized tailoring supplies
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in haute couture tailoring and garment construction
- Leadership experience managing a team in a luxury retail or service environment
- Mastery of advanced hand-stitching and machine-sewing techniques
- Understanding of luxury fabric properties and specialized treatment protocols
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities
Skills
Experience
Minimum 8–10 years of hands-on experience in haute couture tailoring, bespoke services, or luxury garment alteration, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
Education
Formal training in tailoring, fashion design, or garment construction (apprenticeship, vocational certificate, or equivalent); completion of advanced alterations and bespoke techniques coursework is preferred.
