Chanel in Taipei City seeks an Alterationist to perform couture-level garment alterations and client fittings within the luxury boutique atelier.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Execute precision garment alterations and repairs to couture and ready-to-wear pieces, adhering to Chanel quality and finishing standards.
  • Conduct fittings and consult directly with clients and sales advisors to interpret requested adjustments and ensure impeccable fit.
  • Apply couture techniques including hand-sewn hems, pad stitching, canvas insertion, and delicate fabric restoration.
  • Collaborate with boutique sales teams and in-house ateliers to manage turnaround times, alterations schedules and client expectations.
  • Document alteration work, maintain accurate service records and ensure confidentiality and traceability of client garments.
  • Maintain equipment and a pristine work area; manage consumables inventory (threads, buttons, canvases, interfacings) and report replenishment needs.
  • Uphold brand presentation and customer service standards during all client-facing interactions.

Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma or certificate in tailoring, fashion technology or equivalent bespoke dressmaking training.
  • Minimum 3 years' professional experience in luxury garment alterations or couture ateliers, with demonstrable mastery of hand-sewing techniques.
  • Proven experience working with high-value fabrics (silk, wool, lace, embellished textiles) and structured garments.
  • Strong client-facing skills with discretion, professionalism and the ability to translate fitting requests into technical solutions.
  • Excellent eye for detail, precision, and a commitment to uncompromising finish and brand standards.

Experience
